Hi!

Im not even sure why I'm blogging! Its not like I'm a blogger anymore! But I just needed to write about how excited I am to have completed a year of photo-a-day! I will now begin the process of having it published and printed into a blurb.com book :-). I love this idea! I have my 2009 photo-a-day book close by and I look at it often! I missed out on doing it for 2010 and I really regret it! So after doing 2011, I knew I wanted to continue the theme. This time Ive actually jumped on the bandwagon and will be doing Project Life! Very exciting! I have been reading Jennifer Woodbury's blog for years and love her photos. Thats where I discovered Project Life. So i've ordered my kit and looking forward to it!

2011 was a good year. With Ups and Downs.
The highlight was definately our family holiday to Hawaii in May. Liberty celebrated her 3rd Birthday and Indiana turned ONE on the very same day! We really had fun on that trip! Liberty still talks about it!!!!
I turned 30! And Matty turned 40!! So there were many celebrations for our little family!

Happy New Year!!!!!!

Well, another year has arrived!!

2010 was full of ups and downs!
The best part was Indiana arriving in our family, on Liberty's birthday!
My two little girls are wonderful and bring us so much joy!!!

They are great sisters and they get on so well!!!

We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, My brother and Siany got married! My grandparents left the country and then came back!!!

We had lots of wonderful times!!!
The down was definitly my appendicitis. Getting so sick after my operation. Dont even get me started on the state of the public hospital I spent a week in!!! But im on the mend now (finally) and we are looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!

Im not usually into new years resolutions. Usually I dont make any. This year however, I seem to have HEAPS! One of these is to take a Photo a day 2011 again!! I did it in 2009 and it was hard work every day, and it cost a heap to get it printed into TWO blurb books. But I look back on those books and the time it took and the cost was TOTALLY worth it, so im doing it for another year!! wohoo!!!!!!

It's also a great way for our friends & families over in Switzerland and New Zealand to see what we are up to on a day-to-day basis and watch the girls grow!!! Please let us know if you are watching! I like knowing who is looking!!

Indiana's Birth Story...

I woke up on the morning of the 25th May 2010 with a few period pain symptoms, and I said to Matt before he left for work “I recon this baby is coming in the next 24-48hours”. Matt kind of just laughed.

Seeing as it was also Liberty’s 2nd birthday her Grandmamy & Grandpapa were just up the road at the local hotel. Mum arrived at about 9am and I figured these little ‘on and off’ again pains were most probably contractions. So I told mum and whilst she played with Liberty I went and properly packed my hospital bag.

The day went on as normal. Dad arrived and at about 10am. I had a ‘show’ so I called Matt (at work) just to let him know not to go too far!
- by this stage, im still not in pain, just having little twinges every 10 or so minutes -
Matt turns up at home about 5 minutes after my phone call!! Hahaha! So sweet! I told him that I still don’t think this baby is coming today. Then I feel as if there are no contractions at all. Hmm. So Matt, Mum, Dad, Liberty the birthday girl in her new birthday outfit and I all go on a walk along the lake. I walk all the way to ProKayaks and not have any contractions, Uh oh, I think to myself, I’ve just got everyone excited that there will be a baby soon and now I don’t feel anything! That didn’t last long! The contractions came back, along with the arrival of John and Sian (Liberty's god parents/Aunt/Uncle) arriving to see Liberty and help prepare for Liberty’s birthday party in the afternoon. We all eat lunch.

At about 1pm I’m having contractions about 10minutes apart and although they are still painless I can feel them!! They are more annoying than anything else.
I call the hospital at about 2pm as I feel they are getting stronger, the midwife asks me if I want to come in? “Not really” I reply as I don’t want to waste all my time at the hospital when there is a party going on at home.
Not long after the phone call to the hospital my contractions begin getting painful so Matt and I decide to leave home. Mostly cos I don’t really feel like getting laughed at by the family (oh, and John is freaking out! Haha).
So we kiss Liberty goodbye and wish her a happy birthday! My family is left to set up for her birthday party in the afternoon.

All of a sudden during the drive to the Hospital, my contractions begin HURTING! But I still don’t think that im that far into my labor as in between contractions I feel fine and Matt and I chat away! During our drive and in between contractions Matt and I laugh and confirm our Boy and Girl name that we like, oh, and work out how we are going to spell both these names…
We then arrive to the hospital entrance. I tell Matt that im feeling fine and not to drop me at Emergency, Im fine to walk from the carpark. I have a HUGE contraction in the car at the carpark – ouch!
We then get out to walk.. Im still fine between contractions but walking up the hill from the carpark takes a while as im having to stop for 3 painful contractions.

We arrive into the hospital and Im taken straight to a delivery room. Im still feeling fine between contractions and enjoy chatting away to Matt and the Midwife whilst we fill out forms. I tested positive to Group Strep B so I have to be put on IV antibiotics for the rest of the labor, but the midwife decides to check how dilated I am first. She checks, and im not sure of her answer, as now my contractions seem to be one on top of the other. She leaves the room for a second opnion.

Whilst she’s gone I feel strange, kind of like I need to poo. It then becomes impossible to hold it in… I start screaming, and POP, my waters break. Matt is doing a wonderful job, as he is the only person in the room... Not for long though, as the midwives have heard my screams! Haha! It wasn’t a poo I needed to do as I then give birth to our beautiful Daughter, Indiana , 3.35kg and 51cm!! Only 20minutes after arriving at the hospital!! No IV antibiotics were given, there was no time!!!

I did require a lot of stitches for the 2nd degree tearing I got from the fast birth. I was given gas for that!

Once Im up and showered I felt great! Not tired and not too sore either! Im on cloud nine with our beautiful little baby girl with a mop of long, thick blonde hair on her head. She is perfect.

Matt calls home, Liberty’s party is in full action, he lets everyone know that Indiana has arrived quickly and safe! Everyone is amazed that she is already born!!
Indiana spent her first 24hours in special care as her heart rate was low but then she was all ours!!! She fed well and fast from the first feed and she is adorable!!

The Countdown is begining...

... well not just yet, but on thursday there will only be six weeks left till the due date of our baby #2! Some days feel long and some days seem fast, but all in all, this pregnancy seems to have flown by (im obviously having a good day today or i'd be saying the opposite!! haha!)

I cant wait to see what sex our baby will be. What he/she will look like. And the biggest thing... How will Liberty react to having a little brother or sister! She points out to every baby she see's and she LOVES her dolly's and is such a good mother to them. So Im hoping she will be thrilled with our new arrival!

Not as much preparation has gone into setting up for baby #2. I do have to chase up our carseat, rocker and playmat from a friend who is burrowing everything, so that I can wash it all and have it all installed before baby comes.

I havent bothered to buy any clothes yet. I've washed all Libby's newborn white and unisex clothes and we will go from there once he/she comes. And we seem to have everything else.

We've finally got a girls name and we think we have our boy's name so that is a relief!!!

All that we had to buy was a cradle for the baby (thanks mum & dad), as we decided not to transfer Libby into a bed before baby comes. Also a double stroller. I want somewhere to restrain Liberty and also somewhere for her to sit when she gets tired + I think she'll want to be in the stroller if the baby is, so this will save some meltdowns im hoping!

We cant wait to meet our new baby! Im ready now!! Well, in a few weeks! I'll just keep it baking for a tad longer in the meantime & spend as much quality time with Libby before it comes.

Hi Everyone!!

I found my dream home today! So I called Matt to see if he'd checked our lottery tickets, just incase we had won, and we could go buy it now!! haha! Well, we did win the lottery... $21. Hmm, I dont think $21 covers anything, in fact I think we paid more than that for the ticket! haha!

I wish we had enough money to buy THIS little shack on Narrabeen Lake. It doesn't have a price but I know it would be out of our league! We will just have to keep saving...

Well, it was Farmville on facebook but my new years resolution was to delete it as its such a time waster. I miss it though cos it was just a nice silly thing to so to 'escape'.

The same thing I wear practically every day... My denim shorts and a black singlet!

a notebook for $5. Bargan! It was 1/2 price, on sale!

Yesterday I went and had my 20 week ultrasound. It was so exciting!!! Im going public for this birth, as I did with Libby. So there are no extra check ups and special care (unless needed) but I was so happy that I asked the ultrasound lady if she could please print out a photo of the baby so I could show Matty (who stayed at home to look after Libby). The lady was so nice and said in that case she'd take a 3D photo from thier new machine... HOW EXCITING!!!!

So here are a couple of photos of baby #2 both in 2D and 3D. I didn't find out the sex, just incase you were interested!!

Hi Everyone,
Just a little note for any of you who follow my photo-a-day-2009 on my flickr account!
You must have noticed that for the last couple of months I havent posted anything up! It was due to organising a wedding, being in the first trimester of my pregnancy and basically just falling behind.
It made me sad to think that i'd give up after doing it for 10 months but I also felt i couldnt be true in what I was writing as I was still hiding the pregnancy! Anyway, now I've decided im going to catch up!! I can be true in what I write as everyone knows about the new addition! I've got lots of work ahead of me!! haha!
So, anyways, just wanted to let you all know, im slowly beginging to update it all.

So, I thought it would only be fair to reccommend some of the awesome companies and people we used for our wedding as well and remind you to spread the word NOT to use Crown Catering!!
If you haven't already read this post then go visit it and you'll see why they are the worst catering company out there! And I'd like to add, that we've been married for 16 days now and i'm STILL waiting for a response from Crown Catering to the two letters I wrote them. So one more time... do not use them!!!

Ok, here come the positives....

We hired our Marquee, red carpet, tables, chairs & table cloths from them. They were so efficient they even asked if it was okay to set up the marquee a day earlier than arranged! How awesome is that?! It gave us an extra day to set up!!! They were professional and we got everything we asked for!

We had a jukebox at our wedding! It was awesome and it also doubles as a PA with 3 microphones. They delivered a day early and picked up the next morning. They were real professional and no fussing about with them!

This is the awesome farm we were married at! Yes, you can stay there! They dont do weddings (I was super lucky cos im the daughter!) but you can book to stay for a night, a week or longer! IT's beautiful!! Thanks mum and dad!!!!

AVOID using Crown Catering

Last week, we were married. It was FANTASTIC!!!! The day was perfect! So was the weather and EVERYTHING!
There was just one little thing that seemed to want to put a 'spanner in the works' and that was the so-called professional company Crown Catering.
Its a Sydney based company and I feel it is my duty to let everyone know what happened to us whilst using this company as we don't want it to happen to others.
So here is my Testimonial:

Pre Wedding:

We had organised for all cutlery, glasses and plates to be delivered up before the wedding. Crown Catering informed me that this would be a $100 delivery fee. Sure, I thought, after all, it is my wedding and I want things to go smoothly. Deliveries are made monday-friday and I'd hear from them in the week to know when they would be delivered.

I would just like to add, Crown Catering demands that they have FULL payment 3 days prior to the function. Which ofcourse, I was early with my FULL payment as I didn't want any hiccups.

On the thursday prior to the saturday wedding, I was getting a little concerned that I hadn't heard from them. I called three times throughout the day, only to be told that the person I was speaking to was unable to help me but they took my name and number and they'd get someont to get back to me asap.

Friday. Okay, I was worried now! I called Crown Catering at 9am, 10am & 11am. Oh, they took my name and would get someone to call. Eventually Matt got through to someone in the afternoon, only to be informed that it would not be delivered as it was not on the delivery list! I paid $100 already!!! So, after a lot of telephoning around my brother kindy offered to DRIVE the 2 hour drive to Sydney to pick all the dishes up! He arrived. Oh, the warehouse wasn't ready yet (approx 4:30pm by this time). Eventually the unenthuiastic staff members filled his car for him to drive back up to the mountains for another 2 hour drive in PEAK HOUR!

Oh well, we thought, at least we have everything before the wedding!! We stayed positive even when having to wash and polish all 80 wine glasses and 80 sparkling wine glasses, as we were given new ones that were still un washed!

Wedding:

Chef turns up in his old bomb of a station wagon car, windows wound down as I think its a model that existed before airconditioning was even invented! And ta da, all our food is in this car! It has been since he left Sydney for the 2 hour drive up. I didn't think about it at the time, but I'm sure the health authorities aren't approving of that amount (enough to feed 87 people) of food should be transported without refridgeration!?

Wedding goes well. My Dad, being the sticky beak that he is, goes and looks at the meat roasting on the spit and nearly had a cardiac arrest when he see's the TINY bit of meat roasting away.
"Mate!" he says to the chef, "This is the meat? You cant be serious! There is only about 3kg of meat there. It won't feed 90 people!!!".
"Don't worry", replies the chef. "i've got more pre-cooked meat that I brought up with me from Sydney.

Hmmmmmmm. Why didn't it click with me yet????!!!

Then came time for desserts. We had ordered fruit platters with cream and Pavlovas. Mmmmm!! Oh wait! The pavlovas never showed up!
Oh and I hope you didn't feel like a cup of tea or coffee at my wedding, as even though we PAID for china tea cups and PAID to hire an urn from Crown Catering, these things NEVER turned up!!!!

Never the less, we still all had a wonderful time and had fun! fun! fun! I loved our wedding!!!

Post Wedding:

Without getting into too much description.... 30. yes, THIRTY people fell ill. Mostly on the monday. With vomiting and dirroreah!!!! Food poisoning?? Well thats what my doctor told me! Thats what our friend that ended up in HOSPITAL was also told. And I tell you what, I was so upset to see Liberty (only 17 months old) vomiting uncontrollably eleven times on monday night. Yep, she ate the food.

Oh and our honeymoon?? Well, with Matt, Libby and I not being able to be too far from the toilet at anytime, sadly, we have had to cancel.

I contacted Crown Catering, I've been told that oh, thats never happened before (which bloody bit???!), and can she have it in writing. So I wrote... 8 days later, I haven't heard back. Nothing. Nada!

So, if you are thinking about using a caterer for any occasion, be it a wedding, christmas party, etc etc.
I warn you from experience. DO.NOT.USE. Crown Catering.

Edited To Add: I forgot to mention... all their dirty plates, cutlery, glasses etc are still sitting in the shed on my parents property waiting to be picked up!!! They promised me it would be picked up yesterday. Uhm, yeah, well that didn't happen!

Just Married!!!

On the weekend I married Matty my boyfriend of 6 years and the father to our baby girl Liberty, at a beautiful ceremony held at my parents farm!!
It was perfect!!!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know we are a very happy married couple!

Yesterday Matty and I along with Liberty went to Centro to escape from this....

The dust storm that suffocated Sydney and plenty of NSW yesterday!! This is a photo of the roof of my silver car!

So, whilst we were shopping ~to escape the dust~ I bought Liberty some much needed bigger singlets! I actually bought them in a size 2 so she'll be able to grow into them! They only had white ones which Matt and I thought were a bit boring so we went to the sewing section and they had about 3 colours of dye to choose from, so we chose purple!

When Libby went down for her nap, I did the dyeing...

Here she is wearing one of the singlets (whilst also doing some crazy acrobatic stunt - haha)

Im happy with the results of my first time tie dying singlets for Lib! It was good fun to do too!!!
Now, to go clean the kitchen from orange dust and purple dye! hahaha

Zoo Friends

Today, for our family day we went to Taronga Zoo! We did visit here back in April this year and seeing as we returned today we decided to become Zoo Friends! Seeing as we live so close it is definately worth becoming a friend. Especially the fact that we will get to see this little one grow...

Isn't he a little cutie!! I cant believe he weighs 164kg! wow!! Big appetite!! haha!

We also went to see the seal show! Libby just loves the seal show! She loved it heaps last time we went and again this time!! (she wasn't loving wearing her hat though - haha!)

We also went to the farm playground bit. Libby and I patted a little lamb and she was very interested in the pig. There was also a great playground for Libby to play around in! And ofcourse, we couldn't leave the show without seeing the gorgeous and always entertaining chimps!

We also went to the birl show and in total spent 4 hours exploring the zoo and riding on the gondola (ofcourse).

For the last couple of months I've been looking after Arabella 1 day a week (sometimes more, sometimes less). Its been good fun! Liberty and Arabella get on so well together! Bella is 5 months older and I think Libby looks up to her and is learning lots from her! They are both the sweetest little girls! Im so lucky to be able to watch them play together so often! Just wanted to jot down all the words Libby is now saying! So, here goes...

Thats all I can think of at the moment. Her newest words are; more, which she loves to use after every snack I give her (haha) and also "dath goo" (thank you) which she mostly says when passing someone something, which I guess is normal as I always say thank you when I pass her a toy/food. So I now have to figure out how to get her to say thank you when she has recieved something not when she is giving it.

She knows her animals. She will point to them or pick them up out of the pile. She is starting to do a few animal noises too. She's done the duck noise for ages. She can now also "mooo" and "woof" when she feels like it! haha.

She understands in French where her ears are and i think she is pretty much understanding the mouth and tummy, again, in french.

She runs.
She dances.
She gives kisses.
She throws little wobblies.
She can be clingy.
She is mostly social.
She is adorable!!!!

We love her so so much!

I've recently had my 2nd Nappy Cake order!! Wohoo! Business is booming!!!! HAHAHAHA!
I was asked to make a cake for a baby girl with minimal pink. I ended up using a yellow & grey theme with a splash of pink!
Im really happy with this cake! It my favourite one so far! I love the colours!

Every wednesday Matty takes the day off work (he works weekends) and we have a "family day" we even used to do this before Libby was born! I love being able to spend time as a family!! Some wednesdays we dont do much, just hang out all together and sometimes we do fun and exciting things! Living in Sydney means there is always somewhere beautiful to go to spend the day!

We drove to Manly and caught the ferry into the city! It was such a nice day and we all enjoyed the ferry trip....

When we got to the city we walked over to The Rocks and looked at a few shops and then Matt saw a little cafe where basically everything was gluten free or at least had a gluten free option. So I said we definately had to have lunch there!! We both had kebabs! Wow! I gluten free kebab! That was the first time i've had one of those and it was yummy!!!

We then walked back to Circular Quay and hung out there for a while before going to the Opera House and for a walk in the Botanical Gardens whilst Libby had a very short nap!

Then it was the afternoon and time to hop back on the Ferry and head home!
We had a wonderful day!

what a toy!

When Libby was about 9 months old, I decided she needed a new bath toy. It was late, the shops were closed, so... I improvised! I got a plastic cup and pierced lots of holes on the bottom of it with the belt buckle holey thingy on my swiss army knife, I gave it to Libby and realised the water wasn't folwing out fast enough so I added holes all around the bottom edge of the cup. Voila! Done! A plastic shower cup!

She is now 14 months old and is still playing with this home made toy the most during bathtime!!! As you can see in the background... the expensive fisher price bath toys hardly even get used! Its all about the cup!!!

I wanted to share this with anyone reading who has little kids! Its a good fun bath toy! And no, she doesn't drink from the cup as the water flows out too fast! And she's usually too interested in watching it flow out or trying to catch the water with her free hand! Too cute!

a 'taste' of summer..

Yesterday the mercury topped a nice 26°! Its still oficially winter here in Sydney! It was so nice! And today is a beautiful warm day again!!! How exciting! Im loving this weather! Its so nice to see Libby's skin too! Its been all rugged up since we got back from Hawaii! I think Libby is loving this warm weather too! Thanks to Matt and I giving her a yummy iceblock to eat and get all sticky with!

Libby LOVES her food! She isn't fussy at all. She'll eat just about anything! We are very lucky to have such a good eater!! I'd have to say she is loving eating corn on the cob at the moment! I've been cooking up lots of it for her!

Wishlist Wednesday

1. A new mattress!!

Our mattress is GROSS! It stinks and its mouldy! I cant believe we both aren't sick all the time from it! Its all stained + we got it secon hand years ago! I've been nagging Matt to get a new one for ages. Mum has a bed she will give us (with an awesome mattress) when they sell their place, but that doesn't seem to be happening, so I think a new cheap mattress will do us good in the meantime!

2. My Hair to be automatically coloured...

without a tedious trip to the hairdressers! hahaha! Now this is a wish I know wont come true! haha! Its 3 months till our wedding so I really should get my hair done so that I can just have a little hair appointment closer to the big day. This is hard for me as I usually only go to the hairdresser once a year. Dentist or Hairdresser? Im not sure which is worse! lol

3. Summer!!

I'm over cold days and having to rug up! I cant wait to be able to dress Libby back into her gorgeous summer clothes and for Matt and I to take her to the beach every afternoon!!

So, its been forever since I just did a random blog post! There are a few reasons,

1. the lack of interest in this blog. I know, I do actually blog for myself, but it used to be great recieving lots of feedback - thank you to you guys who do still comment!!

2. As im posting a photo a day for all of 2009 over HERE, I find it hard to know what to write about on here, seeing as im basically writing out my daily events over there!

3. Blogging takes forever! And Now that Libby is walking, she is constantly bringing me books to read! I cant say no to her sweet little face!

BUT...

Im going to give it a go! Okay, here I go... posting about some random everyday things that have been happening with us lately....

Liberty is growing so fast!! She is very social and loves everyone, everything and food! haha!

She is getting very clever! If I ask her to pull out any of the animals (pictured below) she can do it!!

Im trying to teach her to do animal sounds but so far we havent really succeeded in doing that! She makes a funny sound when she see's a duck - which is cute, and I think she's trying to say "moo". But its definately a work in progress!!!

We haven't spent too much time at the beach, I dont really know why as Libby LOVES it there! We took her there one afternoon - it was so cold - but Lib didnt care! She thought it was hilarious when Matty was doing this....

Here you go Daddy, a shell for you.

hahahah, Liberty thought it was fantastic!!!

We went to a wedding on the weekend. It was the first time leaving Liberty to be babysat by friends and not family. I nearly cried dropping her off, not that I didnt trust our wonderful babysitters, It just felt strange leaving her for the 1st time.
The wedding was very fancy and beautiful! Every single detail was accounted for. They had a wedding planner, candles, lanterns, a singer during the wedding, a band during the celebrations. Enough food to feed a small army! Matt and I especially liked the way they were married and it gave us many ideas!
I didnt take my good camera to the wedding, which I ofcourse regretted! But I got a cute photo of the 4 adorable flower girls! As I dont know them, I wont post it on my blog.
The foood...... Oh my, IF you like oysters, this wedding was for you! They had a table full of natural oysters! Here is a piccie of the cheese platter and lollies they brought out later into the evening...

Earlier this week, we went up to Katoomba for a little getaway!! It was good fun! We went and enjoyed a hungi at Sian and John's house to celebrate Sian turning 22! We hung out with mum and dad, and John and I went iceskating in a little rink (more like an ice cube than a rink) set up for the school holidays! Libby loved her time away!

Happy Birthday Matty!!

Yesterday was Matty's birthday!!! We didn't do much for his special day as the poor thing had to work at ProKayaks all day then off to his 2nd job in the evening. I did make him some super yummy meatballs and mash for dinner when he got home and we played some games, ofcourse, i let him win seeing as it was his birthday - hahahahha!

In the morning after Libby had her bottle next to him in bed, I brought him his pressies from his sisters. Libby had a ball opening them all up. In the gifts there were a couple of bags of lollies, Libby carried them around with her practically the whole day! Too cute!

I have never been so un organised for a birthday before. I still had no gift for Matty! I'd ordered a couple of things online but they didn't arrive in time. So, Libby and I rushed to Warringah Mall to go and do a spot of shopping. I hope he like what I got him! I was hoping the main gift would be in the scratchie tickets I got him!! I was hoping he'd win the jackpot..... hmmmmm..... nope, he did win $10 tho!

Here are a couple of photos:
The first one is of Matty's birthday last year! And the second one is, obviously, of his birthday this year! I cant believe how much Libby has changed in a short year!!! Last year she was only about 6 weeks old, so tiny and precious. Now she's a little toddler (13 months) who's walking around, has a huge personality and is still so, so precious!
As you can see, Matty is a very proud and wonderful daddy!

And Libby gave Matty a wonderful gift for his birthday.... she did a poo poo in her potty (for the 2nd time)!!!

I had a Nappy Cake order!! I was asked to make a 2 teir cake for a girl!

This is what I made.....

I sold it for $80! I was so happy to make some money! And it was great fun to "bake" haha!

Yesterday we went shopping in Chatswood and I lost my wallet. I was so upset as I now had to cancel all my cards, I have to figure out what was IN my wallet, get a new licence etc, etc, etc. But I also had the money I made from my nappy cake in there. It sounds a bit stupid, but this past year, I havent made my own money as I'm a stay at home mum. This was the first time i'd made a bit of cash. I was so upset to have lost it.

Other than losing my wallet, everything is great!! We now have a full on walking toddler on our hands who is pretty much on one sleep a day now! She is just so much fun! I love spending my days with her!

Today is my first Mothers Day! Technically its my 2nd as last year I was heavily pregnant and already totally in love with my baby and willing to do anything for it! And this year is even better! I got very spoilt this morning. first from Libby sleeping in till 8:30am!! How nice!! And she also gave me a beautiful gift!! Thank you Libby!!

And then there is MY mum, the best mum in the world! She does everything for me! Im so lucky!!

'family day'

Wednesdays are Matt's day off so we call it "family day"! We usually try and do something exciting most weeks. Usually we just go down to Manly Beach, go for a walk or to the Mall. A few weeks ago we went to the Zoo which was fun! Today we had a lovely day and took lots of photos so I thought i'd share some here seeing as I haven't blogged in AGES and also I couldn't decide what photo to post on my photo a day so I thought i'd add more here!

Libby slept in till 8am this morning (her usual wake up time is 7:30am) So we figured she wasn't going to be keen on going back to bed at 9:30am. So off we went to North Head up from Manly. We had a little walk around and enjoyed the view and looked at all the Aussie Native Plants (at least i think they are native - haha)....

We then jumped in the car to go home. Pretty much as soon as we started driving Libby fell asleep. As we started getting close to home we decided to keep on driving seeing as Liberty was still fast asleep. So we drove up to Palm Beach and got a few snacks from the deli and jumped on a ferry over to The Basin! I'd never been there. Its such a pretty place. We saw plenty of Rock Wallabies (+ a joey in its mum's pouch), Crabs, Ducks and Birds! It was great! We were all loving it - Libby especially!!!
Okay, here's our trip in photos.....

After our fun ferry ride we were greeted by some cute wallabies! look at its joey!!!!Libby loved the wallabies and kept pointing at them throughout our time there!
Then we had lunch.... And went exploring and then walked along the beach! Libby loved playing in the sand and found it especially fun to slam her whole face into the sand and eat it!! Ahhh, the things you do when your 11 months old - haha!

We saw some crabs! In fact, I heard them before I saw them! I felt like I was in some kind of science fiction movie.....

Bec and Kato's Wedding 6.3.09

Bec and Kato had a beautiful wedding!! They got married at North Head Manly, it had an incredible view, such a gorgeous venue. They were so lucky with the weather too, and everything looked perfect even when Bec walked down the isle... it was scattered in rose petals that lead her to where she would get married to Kato.. the petals were scattered into the shape of a heart around them.

The reception was at the Skiff Club in Manly. The food was great with lots of it, and the chocolate cakes were beautiful, and I was lucky enough to get a gluten free version!!! Very exciting! They had a DJ and someone playing the saxaphone. What a great wedding for a fantastic couple!!!

Here are some piccies of the special day... I went along to the hotel to watch Bec and her sister (the bridesmaid) get ready for the wedding, so we went to the roof top pool and took a few photos! Bec was so relaxed, she even joked about falling in the pool!! haha!

My Engagement Ring!!!

Yesterday I went and picked up my engagement ring from the jewelers!! A few weeks ago Matt and I went ring shopping and we ended up buying the first one we saw! We did go and look at all the jewelers in the mall, and then went back to the first shop! So, it was definately the one for me!! So exciting to now have the 'official' ring!!

So far, with the wedding planning... My colour combo keeps changing! I've decided on my bonbonnieres (which im going to make) - once i know our colour theme lol! We've booked a marquee, got a date. I emailed a celebrant yesterday, so im waiting on a reply and im hoping to have this photographer for our special day. I've really got to get onto catering I think!! I know what we want, just gotta find it!!

Im Still Here!!!

Hello!!

I recieved a comment from Brigitte saying that I hadn't posted in 20 days!! I didn't realise it had been so long!! Sorry to anyone who still actually reads this blog!

I've been busy!!! Matt and I have been engaged for nearly a month! So i've been doing some wedding planning. Since our engagement my Brother John and Siany have also announced their engagement. So we are having fun planning our weddings together, and swapping ideas and stories! At the moment we are both in love with the same dress!! haha!!!
Matty and I have been engagement ring shopping together and we thing we've found 'the one'. We will hopefully go in and get it tomorrow (aparently they are having big sales this saturday).

I know i've been neglecting my little blog but I think its because i'm concentrating so much on my photo-a-day-2009 project. Im loving jotting down a little paragraph about the day and adding a photo. Its good fun! If you'd like to visit that, click HERE.

We recently went to our good friend's Bec and Kato's Wedding. It was beautiful!! I want to do a blog post about it as it was great to be there to watch our good friends get married!

Liberty is growing so so fast!!! She is NEARLY 10 months old now!! She now points, waves and claps. She crusies around furniture at a rapid pace. She loves climbing up flights of stairs. She babbles constantly. Eats well... real well. She's still on 3 breastfeeds a day. She has two little teeth, and i think the top ones are begining to break through. She is so funny and so cute. And I guess im allowed to brag about her here on my blog!! haha! We are loving Gymbaroo! Libby loves all her friends!! And I love catching up with my mothers group on a monday!
Im still feeling very tired though (bloody iron levels). Its annoying as I dont do as much as I want to because I get too tired + there is no point in wearing myself out too much.

Okay, well I just wanted to let you all know, im still around! I'll be back soon to blog about Bec and Kato's wedding!!

was my 28th birthday! I got nice and spoilt! My family came down and we all went to lunch together! It was good fun. In the evening Matty got home from work and PROPOSED!!!

9 months...

I can tell you that these past 9 months went by so so so much faster as the 9 months before that! Its been 9 months of pure joy! She is an amazing baby!!

Her milestones so far:
* she has 2 bottom teeth
* cruises all around furniture, pulls herself up on everything
* has 3 meals a day + 4 breastfeeds
* loves the wiggles
* claps & waves
* will kiss her mummy when asked to (if she feels like it) and will also kiss dolls and teddies on demand (again, only if she feels like it!)
* loves gymbaroo
* weighs 9.3kg
* sleeps through the night more often than not and has two long sleeps during the day
*squeals & grunts to get our attention, and I think she is begining to babble, still havent heard any mumma, dadda or bubba though.
* her favourite things to play with are books and her pool of balls

Bec's Hens Weekend - Gold Coast QLD

On the 31st January - 3rd February I went up to the Gold Coast, Queensland to celebrate Bec's hens weekend with a great bunch of ladies (and two babies)!!

We all flew up together (besides Brydey as she drove up) and then checked into our penthouse - YES!!! A penthouse!!

It has 4 bedrooms, 4 toilets a massive kitchen and living area. It was also 2 storeys. Upstairs there was a huge deck with another little kitchen and a spa on the deck!! And 360° views. Gorgeous place!
There was a downside however... The penthouse was on the 8th storey of the building and when we arrived we were greeted by the manager only to be told the lift was out of order!! Ouch! Treking up 8 flights of stairs was a bit of a scary thought, but they offered us a 50% discount, so that was pretty awesome + it was a bit of excerise!

We had a great time all together! I only knew Bec and Eva (and baby Fynn) and I got to meet and know Catriona, Deb and Brydey during our stay! They were all awesome ladies!

On the first day we all kind of did our own thing, Liberty and I walked down to the main strip to look around, we also went down to the beach to play which Libby loved! That night all us girls played fun hens night games!! We had such a great time!!

The following day we all (besides Deb who was resting) went to visit the Q-Tower! We caught the lift up to the 77th level (thank goodness the lift was working there - haha) and got to see an amazing view!!!!
Liberty LOVED having Fynn around her to play with!! The babies got on well together and they were just so so cute!! We even dressed them up - too cute!!

It was such a fun weekend away! And soon there will be Bec and Kato's wedding to attend! I cant wait as they are the perfect couple so I look forward to watching them get married!!!

The Alphabet Game...

I saw this game on Rachel's blog and I so wanted to play along, so I left her a comment and she game me my letter... which is the letter....
How does one play the Alphabet Super Game, you ask? You have to list 10 of your favorite things that start with a certain letter assigned to you by the blog owner.

1. Liberty (ofcourse)
My beautiful baby girl. The most precious thing to me in this world. I cannot imagine my life without her and I wonder what I used to do with my time before she was born. These last 8 months with her have been the best of my life!

2. Living by the Lake
Matt and I have been living in our appartment right by Narrabeen Lake for 4 1/2 years now. I love it! At first I found it hard to live in a flat, but now I know all my neighbours and I love our view and the fact that I can just take Libby out in the stroller and be by the lake with all the ducks and animals. Its heaven.

3. Lens
My camera lenses. I love them! Both were given to me from Matty and I just love capturing my world through them.

4. Love
Matty and I have been together for over 5 years now. We have done so much together and now we have a little family and I love him more than ever!

5. Languages
I'm so grateful to my mum for nagging at me all my childhood to 'speak french'! Because of this I can keep in touch with all my family and friends who live in Switzerland. I will be forever grateful that im able to communicate with them all. Thanks mum!

6. Luggage
Lucky me has been able to go on lots of little getaways lately!! So im glad for the invention of luggage to make every trip that bit easier!

7. Letters
I love sending and recieving letters, I mean the old fashioned way with a postage stamp and finding it in your letterbox! Emails are convenient, but letters are special. I keep in contact with my Grand Mamy and Grand Papa Poule (who live in Switzerland) by letter writing.

8. Lollies
Well, chocolate actually (but seeing as that doesn't start with "L" i thought i's write lollies). Mmmmmmm c-h-o-c-o-l-a-t-e!!!

9. Lorinda
Aka Siany! Such a special and close friend to me. She's my family, my friend and my baby girl's god mother, need I say more??!!

10. 'Le' Wiggles
Okay, okay... they are actually just 'The Wiggles' but my oh my do I love the wiggles... when i just need Libby to have some quiet time, all I have to do is pop on the wiggles dvd and that seems to stop Libby in her tracks and she'll sit still for 1/2 an hour!! amazing!

Hands up who broke in her first two teeth yesterday!!!

At 8.5 months old, Libby has two little white teeth breaking through her bottom gum!! Too cute!! Im enjoying her gummy smile as much as I can but I look forward to seeing her little teeth grow too!!!

RIP Grand maman Trudy

Yesterday we recieved the sad news that my Grand maman Trudy passed away with my dad and uncle by her side.

We heard that she was unwell, but had no idea it was this bad. The doctor did tell my dad to hurry and get over to Switzerland asap, but it was still hard to believe. Im just so grateful that my dad made it in time and that they got to see eachother.
I just wish we could of all been there and that she could of met Liberty. But I know that she is in heaven (with Grandpapa and Uncle Etienne) now and will be able to watch Liberty grow up from above.

Here is a photo of her only 2 weeks ago, full of health. It happened very quickly.

And here is the last time I got to be with Grand maman Trudy (i've always kept in contact with lots of letters and a few phone calls throughout the years). August 2004. Court, Switzerland.

7 months...

Hi everyone!!

I'm so happy! I've managed to keep up my photo a day for 2009 for over a week now!! You can see my photos on MY Flickr account.

Liberty is now 7 months old and is more fun than ever!! She is growing so fast! I thought I would doccument some of her little milestones that she's up to at the moment...

is crawling like a pro, and getting into everything!!
can pull herself up to stand against objects now!
sits without any assistance at all now, no longer need to surround her with pillows!
can go from crawling to sitting and then back to crawling again with ease
eats 3 solid meals and 5 breastfeeds a day
loves drinking water from her sippy cup
is now forward facing in her carseat
no longer sleeping wrapped up like a sausage. She is now sleeping in a sleeping bag
we've had to lower her cot seeing as she can now pull herself up on things
loves playing in water wether it be the bath, rock pools or the ocean, no matter what the water temperature is, she loves it!!
she grunts and fake coughs to get our attention
she loves everyone
she is sometimes clingy now, and if tired doesn't want to be left alone
starting to give cuddles, well at least thats what i like to think!!

Hi everyone!!
I have two new years resolutions for 2009... haha, feels weird saying that as I never usually make them!! Anyway... My new years resolutions this year were:
1. go to the dentist (so badly need to go but i just hate it so much! but i will go asap!)
2. take a photo a day for 2009. I've enjoyed watching other people do this and my favourite photo a day blogger in 2008 was Jennifer Woodbury. I love her photos and how she edits them so sharp, crisp and warm. I wish i could get all my photos looking like that!
So, I hope I can keep it up for the year, and then afterwards i'll have it published in a blurb.com book for myself.

Looking back on the year that was....

Hi Everyone!

I filled out this questionnaire at the end of last year (click here to see) and I decided to fill it out again! No tagging here but if you guys fill it out let me know cos i'd love to read about your 2008 year!

1) Where did you begin 2008? at Balls Head, watching the awesome fireworks over Sydney Harbour with Matty, Bec, Kato and Mikey! It was fun!

2) What was your status by Valentine's Day? In a relationship with Matty!

3) Were you in school (anytime this year)? No, But I did have my 10 year high school reunion in December!! That was interesting!

4) How did you earn your money? The start of the year, I was working for my parents in the kitchen making desserts and sometimes serving, but I finished up there in February. I also Nannied Jade at the start of the year and I think it was early march when I finished up with her. Since then, i've been a 'stay at home' Mummy!!!

5) Did you have to go to the hospital? Yes. I went for routine visits, then for the *big* day!!! 25th of May 2008, I gave birth to a beautiful baby GIRL!!! Liberty!!

6) Did you have any encounters with the police? No.

7) Where did you go on holiday? Early in the year (Feb) Matty and I went to Forster for a holiday, but the weather was so terrible we ended up coming home early! We then went back to Forster (july) with Matt's parents and our 5 week old Liberty. In August, Matty, Liberty (9 weeks old) and I went to Perth for 8 days! And then the three of us also went to King Valley in Victoria in September!

8) What did you purchase that was over $1000? A digital TV (currently getting repaired!??!!)

9) Did you know anybody who got married? Yes, our friends Matty A and Leea in October

10) Did you know anybody who passed away? No.

12) Did you move anywhere? no! We love it here in Narrabeen!!

14) What concerts/shows did you go to? We went to the Velodrome, once when Libby was in my tummy, once when she was born.

15) Are you registered to vote? In Australia, its compulsury.

16) Who did you want to win Big Brother? Was that still on TV this year??? I was probably too sleep deprived to notice!

17) Where do you live now? Narrabeen, NSW

18) Describe your birthday... I met up with my family at IKEA. It wasnt a good day at all, as the day before I was in the emergency room at hospital with heart pulpitations, and on the day of my birthday at IKEA, I went to the bathroom and was bleeding. I was pregnant at the time. I was too worried to enjoy myself.

19) What's one thing you thought you'd never do but did in 2007? I actually always thought I would but as it like a dream come true... I bacame a mummy!!

20) What has been your favorite moment? Giving birth to Liberty and spending each and every day watching her grow!

21) What's something you learned about yourself? I like sleeping!!! hahaha! Its not till it was taken away that I realised how much i liked it!! HAHA!! Also, im a lot stronger than I gave myself credit for.

22) Any new additions to your family? My baby girl, Liberty born 25.5.08

23.) What was your best month? Every month! Obviously May was incredible because we became parents!

24.) What music will you remember 2007 by? "im yours" by Jason Mraz.

26) Made new friends? Yes, a great bunch of Mummies (and their babies) from my Mothers Group!! They are all awesome and its great to be able to share the milestones and also confusions and frustrations with a bunch of ladies going through the same thing!

*Happy New Year* everyone!!! I hope you all had a fantastic night last night?!!

We had a wonderful New Years Eve! Very different from any of the other years we've spent together so far!! hahaha!

My parents were staying down in Narrabeen visiting since monday! It was really nice actually! On Monday night, Matty and I went out on a 'date'! We basically did the usual thing we used to do before Libby came along... We went to dinner at Dee Why RSL and then went and watched a movie - Four Holidays, which was entertaining! Mum and Dad babysat a sleeping Liberty!

New Years Eve...
Mum, Dad, Libby and I went on a nice long walk to North Narrabeen and had lunch in a little restaurant there! I had the 'salad by the sea' dish, which was so yummy! Then Mum and Liberty braved the cool(ish) water and went for a dip! I got in as far and my knees! haha. It was perfect for Libby, it refreshed her quite a bit! Then we did the nice long walk back to my flat and Mum and Dad went back home.

Later that afternoon Matty came home from work, so we gave Libby some dinner and at 6:30pm headded for the carnival thats in town at the moment! They were even having some fireworks go off at 9pm (we didnt stay that long though).

Liberty was loving looking around at all the rides going round and round!

We also played a few fun games!! I actually won a *big* stuffed toy (pictured in stroller below) plus we won lots of other little stuffed animal toys! The stroller was full!! I also enjoyed eating a bag of fairy floss and matty had a sausage on a stick!

It was good fun!!! But after walking round the carnival three times, spending way too much money on silly (but fun) games we figured it was time to go home! As we were walking to the car it occured to us that our flat is really too small for the new stuffed toy additions we'd just won.. so we put them on all the cars as we were walking to ours!! Hahaha, i think it was the most fun we had! It was funny watching people walking past the cars looking at the stuffed animals!

We put the big toy on a car that had a toddler car seat in it! We thought they might think Santa had come to visit him/her once again!!!

Then we drove to McDonalds so Matty could get a burger, and I requested driving back via the carnival to see if all the toys were still there - they were! And still, people were walking past looking at them!! heheheh! Love it!

Liberty was being such a happy girl! It was an hour past her bedtime and she was also missing a breast feed, yet she was happy and squealing the whole time!!
When we got home we put our princess to bed, I had some food whilst Matty worked on his puzzle he got for chrissie...

We watched a bit of teli and waited for it to get dark.. then I cracked open some glow sticks and sparklers... Matty and I had our own fireworks and NYE celebrations out on the balcony! We then decorated the balcony rails with our glowsticks! It was good fun!!

We had a fun New Years Eve as a little family! We were in bed and asleep by 11pm!!! hahaha!

2008 was a FANTASTIC year!!! The highlight ofcourse was the birth of our Daughter Liberty in May! And ever since then, everyday has been filled with new milestones met, and the most love and pride for her ever! I cant imagine what my life was like without her.
We've been on many holidays, Forster twice, Perth, Victoria. I've been up to Katoomba to visit family many times.
We've all been nice and healthy (besides all the times i've been struck down with Mastitis - but i cant complian!), happy and in love!
Here's for another great year ahead...

We had a wonderful christmas! It was so exciting to be able to celebrate Liberty's first christmas all together! Im amazed we are here... the end of the year! I remember when Liberty was born (7 months ago) and I thought it would be AGES till christmas, and now, its already been and gone! Crazy!

My family all came down to Narrabeen and rented a house for 3 nights from stayz.com.au. It was a nice place, spacious, right on the lake with a pretty view. Also a spacious lounge room which was cool.
Up until chrissie, we all hung out together! Mum and I went kayaking one day. We played Rummingkin. We all went up to Dunes at Palm Beach for lunch which was yummy (Matty didnt come as he was working).
I love this photo of John and Liberty in the restaurant! Look at John posing and Liberty trying to open her mouth as wide as possible in hope that John will stop posing and continue feeding her asap!! hahaha
We celebrate our christmas on Christmas Eve. For dinner we had a yummy BBQ and mum set the table really nicely also with the help of Siany who made us all gorgeous little gifts which you can see here. So cute!!!
We were all spoilt with lovely gifts! I recieved a moblie phone from Matty, some awesome shoes from John and Sian and a gift voucher and mum and dad gave us a gift basket full of goodies and cash and ofcourse a photo we'd had done earlier by a photographer!
We gave all sorts of gifts, I'd say the most successful one was the one we gave to mum! Which was a pendant made of silver with Liberty's finger print on it! Very special. HERE is the company I used.
Here was my favourite gift.... Watching Libby opening all her gifts...

My Grandmamy in Switzerland also knitted us 2 pairs of socks each!! She makes them all herself and they are beautiful! Here is a photo of all of us wearing our new socks... I also love this photo of Matt, Liberty and I. Look at Liberty, she's got the hang of this 'opening gifts' business - hahaha....

On christmas day, we went over to the accommodation where my parents were renting for the morning. John and Siany had left early in the morning to spend christmas with Siany's family. Then later in the day Mum and Dad left to go back up the mountain, so Matty, Libby and I headded for the beach!!!
We went to Manly beach and took Libby's new sand toys her Grand mamy and Grand Papa gave her. It was good fun! Liberty was loving it! She was eating the sand - ewe! And then she spent a while playing in the water! Too cute!

Christmas night we just stayed at home and relaxed. It then occured to me that coles would not be open, so for chrissie dinner we had baked beans with rice and cheese - ops!!! But we both love baked beans so it was all good!

We all had a great christmas, and hope you did too!!!
I may add more chrissie photos as im still waiting on some from Siany's camera too.

Last night a whole bunch of us went to 'carols by the lake'! It was good fun!!

To tell you the truth, we couldnt really see (or hear) the carols that well, but it was fun to all be out and about and be festive! We had 4 babies, lots of adults, a picnic and there were even fireworks!! fun fun!!

Today my family arrive to sydney so we can all celebrate this silly season together!! Yay!

Before they arrive i must get back to cooking baby food!! And ofcourse meet up with mothers group one more time before chrissie!!!

Matt and I took Libby to get a carseat!!! From THIS place who gave us great service!
Up until now she has been in her baby capsule the Safe-n-Sound Unity Baby Carrier which has been an awesome car seat, which also attached to my stroller which was fantastic in Liberty's first few weeks of life!
But it was now time to upgrade to a forward facing carseat! We bought the Safe-n-Sound Meridian AHR carseat for $505.

Im very happy with the it! It looks very comfy too. She fell asleep in it on the short drive home...

I think she is very happy to be able to face us now!! Im happy to be able to turn my head around and see her too!

I also met up with a couple of my Mothers Group friends today, and this afternoon i've been taking it easy as my mastitis is still taking a toll on me! I cant wait for the meds to work!!!

Sick....

with mastitis (again!). So depressing! I haven't had mastitis since Libby was 10 weeks old! I've had engorgement and very close calls but managed to prevent it. Not today. I thought i had caught it early enough but no. So Libby and I have just spent the last hour at the medical centre. Hopefully this will be the very last time EVER that i get this dang thing!

Libby was so good in the waiting room. Im so lucky to have a good baby!

Okay, I better go take an antibiotic and see if she wants a feed!!!

Hi everyone,
When I was pregnant Matt and I went to the hospital once a week for 6 weeks to do an antenatal class, with a group of very excited, nervous & very pregnant couples! We all had fears about the birth, excitement and also hope. We all had the same wish, that no matter what sex our babies were, or the colour of their hair, we all really just wanted our babies to be healthy.

Then came time to PUSH (ouch!) We all gave birth to BEAUTIFUL babies, and a few weeks later came the time for our antenatal reunion. We all sat in a circle showing off our new bundles of joy and all having a turn at talking about our birth experiences and life as new parents.
The usual was said by most parents, you know, Things like "i had a natural, drug free birth", "i tore badly", "i havent slept for more than 3 hours in a row", "i love breastfeeding" etc etc etc, (i think you get the drift).
Then it was the turn of one of the lovely couples to show off their adorable baby girl who was born with V.A.T.E.R syndrome. You should see how positive they are. They did not complain about the tough times but were just so thankful for the hospital that are helping their baby girl through her rough start to life.

Thanks to the Westmead Childrens Hospital this beautiful baby girl is being looked after. And now, their local radio station is hosting a christmas appeal for the childrens hospital at westmead. They are asking for a donation (doesn't have to be much, but every cent counts).

The appeal starts on Thursday 11th December at 9am through to 12pm on Saturday the 13th. If you are able to donate, or even better, become a 'coin patroller' it would be fantastic!!! You can donate on line, in person or by the phone.

"Our local radio station is organising a COIN PATROL for WESTMEAD CHILDRENS HOSPITAL to help change the lives of sick kids like our daughter, if any one can help that would be FANTASTIC!!!!!! As a coin patroler, a donation, or some spare change to me to put in."
