this weekend..

Gosh, it still doesn't feel real that im not going back up to work! So strange!! I feel like im just on holidays or something!

So last night was earth hour.. Matty and I stayed in and I lit lots of pretty candles around the lounge room! It looked great!! I was also happy to see the result in and around Sydney that they showed on the news and all the other big cities did a great job too!! I hope they show us some of the other countries and how they did with it!! Its great that we are all getting into it!

Here's how it was at our place....

Then this morning we woke up so Matty could participate in Life Start's Kayak for Kids race in Sydney Harbour... Before we even got to the race, we had a bit of a drama... LUCKILY, Matt was supposed to meet one of his friends at his shop at 8am to let him in to get a kayak. We got a phone call from his friend at about 8:05am saying "WHERE ARE YOU?!!!". Well we were both asleep still as BOTH our phones automatically went back an hour overnight for the end of daylight savings. Very strange! Its not till next week!!! Anyway, we were very lucky for that phone call as it meant we got to the race on time!!
It started in Manly Cove and finished at the end of Blue's Point Road. So i dropped Matty off at the start and got down to the finish line. I packed a picnic and ate it with the gorgeous view whilst I waited for Matty to come in! He was 2nd overall (a double surf ski beat him), and 1st single surf ski craft section! So he had to be happy with that!!
We hung out there for most of the day (waiting for the prize giving) It was a really nice day!!

Matty is arriving... Finished!!! Yay!! Beautiful backdrop for a race!!!Tonight we had a few friends over for a BBQ with thier little baby - so cute!! Cant wait to have ours! So many little play mates around!!
Now, im tired and off to bed!! Hopefully i'll sleep very well!! lol!

Earth Hour...

HI Everyone!!
Just a reminder that tonight is Earth Hour! Its on from 8pm to 9pm! All you have to do is switch off your lights for the hour to help save the environment! Easy!! I've got all my candles ready to go!!!

today i...

Today i started preparing for the baby!!
I was hoping to go and pick up my change table/chest of drawers that I ordered and paid for back in january, but they still haven't got it, grrrrr!
So I decided to start washing!
Awe, our house smells so nice of the fabric softener and powder im using!! So exciting! (yep, i think it'll be the only time i'm ever excited about doing washing!)
I even went to Kmart to buy an ironing board so I can iron everything! Im off to do that now!
Here are some piccies... Lots of whites seeing as we dont know the sex!! I havent actually bought any outfits (just a few singlets) these are all gifts! So spoilet!!
I cant wait to go out and buy some coloured outfits when the little one comes along...

Easter, the bump & my last weekend at work...

Well, what a *busy* weekend I've had!!Being Easter weekend.. my family always work... so we all worked together (like every other year, for the last few anyways) but there was something a little different this year.. its my last weekend working up in the mountains for my parents.

Lets start with Easter..

We actually gave our gifts and had a really yummy dinner which mum cooked on good friday at about 3:30pm (before work). Matty was in Sydney, working and spending time with his parents who are visiting from NZ!

My Mum decorated the table all nicely with gifts that my grandmamy sent over from switzerland... My grandmamy knitted us all a pair of socks and a woollen beanie for our eggs! I love the socks my grandmamy knits, they are awesome!!

Here is Siany, My brother John and me with our socks! Oh, and I bought my brother the bunny ears bonnet he is wearing - HAHAHHA!

We all gave eachother gifts of yummy easter eggs... the baskets on the table are from mum and dad, they always spoil us! thanks!! :)
The rest of Easter was spent working! Its a very busy weekend for us in the restaurant! But we always have good fun too, plus we give all the customers easter eggs, so the atmophere is great and everyone is happy!!

Its been a while since i've had a photo taken of my "bump", the last time was at 26weeks. NOW im 31 weeks, and woah! What a difference! Im getting BIG!!

Today was my last day working at The Swiss Cottage Restaurant! The place where i've been living since I was 10 years old! Ive practically worked there since I was 10 years old too!!
I did leave for three years, but i've been working there for the last 4 years, so it will be weird not driving the 2 hour drive up from Sydney to work every weekend! I will miss the job and the people, because both are fantastic! It can be hard to work for family.. but i think we are a bloody good family! We all get on well and working in a kitchen (full of knives... ) we have all survived!! hahahaha!

A HUGE thank you to Mum and Dad for being so generous to me through out the past 4 years working there, I know I was doing you a favour, but you did a huge one for me too! And thank you for the generous parting gift (Money for a good vacuum cleaner, and a photo shoot with a big photographer to take photos of the bump pre-cooked and then delivered!) THANK YOU!!!

little fairy...

This is little Jade who i've been nannying on tuesdays since last June! Next week is my last week as im getting big and tired so easily now that im 7 months pregnant. I am going to miss her lots though! Its been amazing watching her grow and progress so well! She had a tough 1st year but in the last 6 months she has progressed so so much!!!

A congratulations and (yay!)...

Yesterday my Brother John and his girlfriend (my good friend) Siany got the keys to their first HOUSE!!!!!!! Im so excited for them!! Congratulations guys!! There house is gorgeous!!!!

And, here is a very rare (in fact, i think its a first....) a photo of John and Sian and all their siblings...

Also, on news from my hospital tests for this week... its all good news, all the results came back normal!! THANK GOODNESS!!! I was really worried!!

Hiccups...

Yep! You read right... hiccups! Last night our little bump had hiccups!!! It was very amusing for Matty and I to feel and watch my belly hopp up & down in rythm! Then I felt sorry for 'it' cos it must feel awful to have the hiccups!!!
Last week I went for the routine GTT test (for gestational diabetes) which I didn't pass, so earlier this week I went for the Oral GTT. Im still waiting on the results... FINGERS CROSSED all is okay!!!

Today I went into Target to get out of the house for a bit. And there was a manchester sale on.. Perfect! For my birthday last week, I asked Mum & Dad, if they didn't know what to get me.. could they get me some sheets for my bed. Mum wasn't sure waht to get so she gave me money, so with the money I bought these (excuse the bad photo)...

A *huge* thankyou also to Sharmaine! I won the RAK on her blog and my prize was this month's QTea Kit!!! (So exciting!!) And to make it more exciting Sharmaine is the guest designer over at QTea this month!! Cant wait to see her creations!! Thanks Heaps!!!
